The challenge

For over 30 years, Flannerys have been making high quality, natural, organic and ethical sourced food available to all. From humble beginnings and a single store in Tweed Heads, Flannerys now have stores dotted across southern Queensland. Harmonica were tasked with updating the Flannerys brand and bringing it to life across their new flagship store and cafe at Victoria Point.

The strategy

Looking at the key values of the Flannerys story, we focused on inclusions of authentic raw textures like timber, polished concrete and exposed brick. The interior graphics were inspired by traditional sign writing and simple honest messaging. Typography was the main hero in the design with playful type lockups highlighting nutritional values and general good-ness that aligns with the brand tone of voice. The new Flannerys supermarket location styling was rolled out across external signage, wayfinding, point of sale, promotional and educational materials.

A huge thank you to the Harmonica team – the passion, energy and commitment they showed to help us refresh the Flannerys brand was outstanding. It was fantastic to be able to partner with such a talented local design team – and to find one on the Gold Coast where our iconic brand first came to life was a true gem.

Kate, Rach and John fully embraced the brief and ensured the family history, values and belief we all have in making good, wholesome food available to all – shine through. Thank you – for the passion, understanding and long hours put into this project. Our team are immensely proud of what you have helped us create.
